No go for BIOS settings to disregard the missing keyboard :-( What I finally did was to take an old keyboard with sticking keys, remove the circuit board (3"x 1.5 ") from inside the keyboard, shorten the cable to 2 feet, seal the whole circuit board in 2" diameter heat shrink tubing and tie wrap my new "keyboard simulator" inside in an empty drive bay. I ran the PS/2 plug out a hole in the back of the case and plugged it into the keyboard plug. Works great. Lets me boot without having a real keyboard (or monitor 'nach) for the cat to knock over or walk on. Once booted I just SSH in for maintenance. If I need to F10 into the BIOS settings, I'll just use a different machine keyboard and monitor. -Rob A. > -----Original Message----- > From: Black, Richard [mailto:Richard.Black@COMPAQ.com] > Sent: Thursday, January 25, 2001 2:31 PM > To: compaqandlinux@van-dijk.net > Subject: RE: [compaq-and-linux] Running a Prolinea without a keyboard > > > Do you have a "network mode" available.
