Actually, the os choices in the BIOS are currently Linux, then UnixWare 2 if
you don't have a Linux choice.  For now, UnixWare 2 is a better choice then
UnixWare 7 when running Linux.  This is per the current Compaq Linux
Installation HOW-TO.

There is something about OS in the Bios setup, in the old versions of
system bios I configured unixware7 as recommended in the SMP
HowTo, but in the recent ones there is the option LINUX, I configured
LINUX,and APIC Full Table. my system bios is dated something in June 2000
I installed yesterday a 3COM  3C59x card and disabled the integrated
TLAN. then migrated the network config to the new card and the server
is running now, I will se in a few days if that  solves the problem
