I think I saw something like this before when the OS set in the BIOS was different than the OS you are running. I dont remember the exact details.... but it was something about different OS's handle SMP differently...... Did you install with SmartStart ? What OS did you pick ? Take a look through the BIOS and see if you can find anything out of the ordinary.... sorry I cant be more clear...
