Are you running the original 6.2 kernel?
Check with RedHat's erratta, there may be bug fixes for that.

The proper APIC mode for Linux should be Full Table. If you have problems
with it set that way then change it to Full Table Mapped until you try out
the next kernel. "Full Table" is the proper choice; however, "Full Table
Mapped" should always work.

You can change the APIC mode by running SCU, press any key, press CTRL+A,
sys config, config hw, review and modify, view or edit details, page down
twice, in the advanced features section you should see APIC mode.

Sincerely,

Hello
Im running a Proliant 1600R with 2 Pentium II 300 MHz processors
and Smart 2 controller 3 4.3 GB hard drives with Linux Redhat 6.2
When I run the OS in single processor kernel everything goes ok
but every time I run a SMP kernel the computer lookups after some days
of work, nothing in the logs the computer completely hang, how I cant trace
this problem or how to detect the cause of this lookups, I upgraded the
tlan driver to the last one without any success in the lookup problem
