Guys !
I've got ml370 with RedHat 6.1 up and running, but the noise of the server's
fan is something terrible !
It works all the time using maximum speed or power or whatever else...
How can I get it to the normal mode?
I know somebody wrote about that issue earlier, but I can't find that topic.
Does anybody have any suggestions ?
Thanks a lot,
Alexander

Here's the format:
To pass parameters at boot time use something like
sim710=addr:0x8000,irq:15
and to pass parameters to insmod use something like
sim710="addr:0x8000 irq:15"
So this would be insmod sim710 sim710="addr:0x8000 irq:15"
or maybe insmod sim710 "addr:0x8000 irq:15".
I'm not an expert at adding parameters to insmod.

I don't remember if spaces matter when doing an insmod.
I believe if you check out the latest info on the sim710 driver, you may not
need to specify the irq of the controller. Here's the home page:

Anyone else have any input on the insmod parameters? Do spaces count when
doing an insmod? Does anyone have the correct format for putting the
parameters in /etc/conf.modules.

Subject: [compaq-and-linux] sim710 module
I'm trying to get my prosignia's onboard scsi controller running under
redhat
7. I have got it detected under redhat 6 with the module compiled into the
kernel and passing "sim710=addr=0x8000,irq:11" to lilo on boot.
Now I have upgraded to redhat 7 and want to load the sim710 as a module
with:
insmod sim710 addr:0x8000, irq:11
This fails saying the device is busy but these resources are corrent in the
compaq system utiliy. Am I passing the resources to the module correctly?
Thanks
