Thanks Elmer. I will give that a try! Bob Kayser, N2GQM - - ... ...- - >>> "Elmer Boutin, KB5NJU" <kb5nju@arrl.net> 06/20/00 09:36PM >>> I've installed Red Hat 6.2 on a Compaq SystemPro LT and a Prosignia 486 with the NCR53c710-based SCSI controller. I downloaded the driver disk and followed the instructions at http://www.sleepie.demon.co.uk/ncr53c710/index.html I followed the instructions Richard provided and it worked very well. The only additional thing I had to do on the installations was delete the existing sim710.o file in /lib/modules/2.2.14-5.0/scsi before copying the sim710.o file from the driver disk to that directory. If I didn't delete the existing file first, the system would not find the scsi controller. This particular driver also detects the IRQ automatically, which is just that much less to type! Hope this helps. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: compaqandlinux-unsubscribe@cpqlin.van-dijk.net For additional commands, e-mail: compaqandlinux-help@cpqlin.van-dijk.net
