Introduction
A few months agoo we wanted to install Oracle for Linux on one of our Compaq Proliant servers. For this purpose I created a set of disks to install Red Hat 5.2 on our server with a Smart Array controller. I decided to share my work with the Linux community, in my opinion is this one of the great things of Linux, and wrote a small paper how I created the disks. After I published my paper on the web I got about 15 emails a day with questions about my disks. Because I couldn't answer all of them I created a mailing list with the purpose that the users of the disks could help each other. I may say that this worked and works well. If you want to join the mailing list go
here. I created a FAQ too. You can read it
here. And last but not least you can report a successful installation or ask for additional features throught
this form.
