Time flies. This site was the home of now obsolete Compaq and Linux mailing list and archives. I started this mailing list in May 1999 because I got a lot of email after I made boot disks for installing Red Hat Linux on a Compaq Proliant. This boot disks included the just released (open source) driver for the Smart Array controller. The installation for installing Red Hat on a Compaq Proliant are still here but I don't expect you need it anymore because the Smart Array controller installation method is in the main Linux distributions nowadays.

It's faster, better and more stable than any Microsoft OS (NT or Win 95/98). And it's free. You can buy it in the store or download it from a website for example rufus.w3.org. There are several different distributions such as : Redhat , SuSe , Caldera , Slackware , Debian etc.
